I just watched Dr. Patel's TMD marketing webinar again. He talks about sending letters to his patients PCPs and specialists as well as dentists. He states that he sends them out the same day if possible. I have looked through the quick letters and I don't see any letters such as the ones he describes. Are these letters I need to compose myself or am I simply looking in the wrong place? He mentioned he did them through Dental Writer.

Hi Sbdental!

Great question. The letters Dr. Patel is referencing are the "narrative reports" or "soap notes" in the DentalWriter software.

While the QuickLetter templates are certainly useful for things like a quick thank you letter, or informed consents, or gap request templates, etc - the narrative reports are far more useful for communicating back to referring physicians as well as for supporting documentation for medical insurers as well, because it includes all of the clinical information like patient medical history, your exam findings, as well as the diagnosis and treatment plan.

Here is a link to a video that walks you through how to generate a narrative report in DentalWriter: http://www.screencast.com/t/TRrbGQEIeP

Hope this helps!
