Jonas: I would treat this as a lost of tooth since it was a fully restored tooth. You can use the dental codes for the services that you preform ie, implant post, crown, etc. Make sure that your diagnosis states lost of tooth due to trauma 525.11, result of skating accident E003.0.

Pt had an implant placed in 2008. In April 2012 pt was at a skiing rink and fell over an object that was on the floor, she had several injuries associated with this fall. She presented in our office with the implant post and the implant crown fractured which required a new custom abutment and a new crown. how do I code this
