Great question. So, the ICD-10 code(s) used for sedation for a procedure will depend on why the procedure is being done - in other words, what diagnosis/condition are you treating?
Those diagnosis codes for the reason the procedure is being done can also be used for the sedation.

There are also "fear of" codes available in the ICD-10 coding system, again as appropriate for the patient:
F40.230 - Fear of blood
F40.231 - Fear of injections and transfusions
F40.232 - Fear of other medical care

Help I am looking the ICD 10 code for oral sedation prior to dental procedure. Does anyone know what I should use?
