Hi Guest!

You may consider using the medical CPT code instead of the "D" code:

D7921 – collection and application of autologous blood concentrate product
can be crosscoded to:
0232T - Injection(s), platelet rich plasma, any site, including image guidance, harvesting and preparation when performed

Just a heads up, many medical insurers do consider PTP not medically necessary at this point in time, so you may need to appeal and explain the reasoning it is medically necessary.

Hope this helps!

Hi! Any help with a denial of D7921. It was a service provided along with wisdom teeth extraction (D7210 and D7220). Insurance is stating no coverage. Is there any way around this denial and is D7921 a frequent denial with insurance? Can this be coded any other way?
