Software Updates: Installation Instructions |

|
|
|
1. If you have not done so, create a user login by selecting
to "Register". This process will allow you to get
the "Installation Secure Registration Code" you will need during the update/upgrade
process by selecting " Activation (Installation Secure Registration Code)"
on the page above. |

|
|
2. Locate where DentalWriter is loaded on your computer
by pressing the "Start" button, then select "Search",
Select "Files or Folders", Select "All files and folders", Enter
"dw.exe" on the name of the file to search for. Press Search and wait
for the search to complete. Make a note of the location of the "DentalWriter"
Folder.... OR Right click on the DentalWriter ICON, select the "Properties".
Make a note of the "Target Location". |

3. Create a backup of DentalWriter.
Start DentalWriter, click File Menu from the top toolbar. Select Backup Datafiles.
Run backup.

|
4. Insert Dental Writer Update CD in the CD drive.
If running on a network, make sure you update the "Server". If you have
downloaded the software make sure you are in the "Server", then double
click the downloaded icon. |

5. During the installation process, the system will ask
you to select the folder to install DentalWriter. Enter the
location from Step 2 above and follow the on screen instructions. |

|
|
6. Start DentalWriter. The program
will ask you for your Activation Key (found in your original welcome document),
enter the activation key. The program will then ask for the Secure Code. The secure
code can be found by selecting "Activation (Installation Secure Registration
Code" from the screen menu on this page. Make a note of the code and enter
on this step. |

7. To print or view the DentalWriter documentation manual,
go into DentalWriter, click on "Manuals" on the top toolbar.
Click on DentalWriter Manual. It will display a PDF of the manual which can be printed
to your local printer. |

|
8. To Install the Crosscode CD update.
Follow the step 2 above to locate the location of the Crosscode software. Make a
note of the location. |

|
|
|
9. Insert the Crosscode Update CD in the CD drive on the
computer that contains the Crosscode installation as found in Step 8.
Start the install. The system will ask you to select the folder to install Crosscode.
Click on the Change Folder option, enter the Crosscode location as found in Step
8. Continue with the installation process. |
