For medical insurance, the code for gum graft surgery is typically CPT code 41870, and it covers all treated teeth. There is no separate code for the first tooth and additional teeth. Use code 41870 for the entire procedure when submitting a claim to medical insurance.

I need to submit a claim to my medical insurance for gum graft surgery. The code for dental insurance is D4277 for the 1st tooth and D4248 for each additional tooth. What are the codes for submitting as a medical claim instead of a dental claim? Is the code 41870? Is there a code for 1st tooth and then a code for each additional tooth?
Thank you.EEE
