Hi Guest!

D7550 - partial ostectomy/sequestrectomy for removal of non-vital bone
can be crosscoded to one of the following:
21025 - excision of bone, mandible
21026 - excision of facial bone(s)
41830 - alveolectomy incl. curettage

As for the diagnosis code(s) - that depends on the patient's condition/sympstoms. If you could reply to me with some detail about why the patient is receiving the service, I'm happy to provide you with some coding options.

We performed service D7550 in-office for a patient following an extraction of tooth #8 at another provider's office 2 months prior. His dental insurance says it has to be filed on his medical insurance. I am unfamiliar with the medical coding requirements for this procedure. Will you please advise on the diagnosis code, procedure code, modifier and diagnosis pointer related to this code? Thank you in advance!
