Great question. You can append the modifier 53 to the service(s) on the claim. Modifier 53 stands for "Discontinued Procedures".

If a patient is anethesized for a procedure, but DDS is unable to perform due to patient's behavior and inability to sedate further, so it was aborted after the anesthesia, how do we get paid for the work done, but aborted?
