Rose Nierman, RDH
Rose Nierman has been at the forefront of educating dental practices on medical billing in dentistry, crosscoding and services expansion
for over 25 years. A pioneer in the industry of the treatment of TMJ and dental sleep medicine, she has developed DentalWriter™ and CrossCode™
Software to assist dentists with documentation and billing medical insurance and has authored 5 dental practice management manuals and
over 100 articles. Ms. Nierman is a frequent presenter at major dental CE programs, teaching dentists and their teams how to implement
and expand services such as Dental Sleep Medicine, TMD and dental implants. Each year, Nierman Practice Management assists their dental

Kent Smith, DDS
Dr. Kent Smith is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and is on the Advisory Committee of the Australasian Academy of
Dental Sleep Medicine. In 2007, he was asked to start a sleep curriculum at the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Clinical Studies. In 2011, he
started the SKISH Initiative ("School Kids in Safe Hands"), to keep our bus drivers and students safe on the roads. In 2012, he was the first
in Texas to be awarded a Dental Sleep Medicine Facility Accreditation. He is the creator of the “Best Sleep Hygiene” app, which is a free
download, and in 2013, he was asked to host a weekly radio show on sleep disorders, and is now "The Sleep Doctor", heard every Tuesday at
1PM on KAAM 770 in the Dallas area.
Barry Glassman, DMD
Dr. Barry Glassman, located in Allentown, PA, maintains a private practice which is limited to chronic pain management, temporomandibular
joint dysfunction and dental sleep medicine. A Diplomate of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and the American Academy of
Pain Management, as well as a Fellow of the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics and the Academy of Dentistry International,
he is also on staff at the Lehigh Valley Hospital where he serves as a resident instructor of Craniofacial Pain and Dysfunction and Dental
Sleep Medicine. Dr. Glassman is a Diplomate of the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He is on the staff at the Sacred Heart Hospital Sleep
Disorder Center, as well as serving as the Chief Dental Consultant to three other sleep centers in the Lehigh Valley. Dr. Glassman has
published a number of articles on pain management and sleep disorders in both peer and non peer reviewed journals. His editorials and articles
on joint dysfunction, appliance therapy, and sleep disorders have appeared in Cranio, Inside Dentistry, Pain Management, and others. For
his dedication to education, Dr. Glassman has been awarded the prestigious Haden-Stack award, given by the American Academy of Craniofacial
Steve Carstensen, DDS
Steve has marveled at what’s out there to be learned for as far back as he can remember. As early as fourth grade he was helping his classmates
with the lessons; that passion for sharing the wonder of new knowledge continues to this day. Fostered by mentors at Baylor College of
Dentistry, the Pankey Institute, Spear Education and the Pride institute, helping others learn more about how to make people healthy
is as important to Steve’s professional life as treating people with dental problems and sleep disordered breathing. Dr. Carstensen
is a Diplomate on the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.
DeWitt Wilkerson, DMD
Having treated several thousand patients for various dental related problems, Dr. DeWitt Wilkerson’s expertise has led him to be an extremely
popular educator and leader in Dentistry. He has trained over 4,000 dentists through hands-on workshops with the Dawson Academy for Advanced
Dental Studies, where he serves as a senior lecturer. He served in 2010-2011 as President of the American Equilibration Society, the leading
organization in the world for the study of dental occlusion (bite) and Temporomandibular Disorders. He currently serves on the Board of
Directors for the American Academy for Oral and Systemic Health (AAOSH). He works closely with local physicians treating headaches, snoring
and sleep apnea through oral appliances.
Mark Levy, DDS
Dr. Mark Levy’s passion for dentistry has led to his reputation as one of Ohio's foremost dentists. Dr. Levy was the first dentist in Central
Ohio to be trained in the discipline of combining aesthetic dentistry and neuromuscular dentistry to provide esthetics as well as function
in the treatment of temporomandibular dysfunction. Dr. Levy has studied with some of the world's leading practitioners in the field of Dental
Sleep Apnea. As a result, he is an active member of active member of ACSDD (The Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines), A.A.D.S.M. (The American Academy of Dental
Sleep Medicine), and A.A.S.M (American Academy of Sleep Medicine)
Mark Paschen, DDS
After graduating from the Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1983, Dr. Mark Paschen began practicing general dentistry in his hometown
of Baraboo, Wisconsin. In 2005 after doing both general dentistry and orthodontics for over 20 years, he decided to limit his practice to
sleep disordered breathing, orthodontics, and the treatment of TMJ Disorders. Presently, he is a Senior Certified Orthodontic Instructor
for the International Association for Orthodontics (IAO). He has spoken both nationally and abroad on Orthodontic Practice Management and
has authored several articles on that subject. He has also spoken at the annual meeting of the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines
(ACSDD) and at the summer meeting of the IAO on dental sleep appliances. He has achieved his Academic Diplomat certification in the ACSDD and
is also a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain.
Terry Bennett, DMD
Dr. Terry Bennett graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1972 with a B.S. in Zoology. He then attended the University of Louisville
School of Dentistry and graduated in 1977. Dr. Bennett started his private practice that same year. He soon developed an interest in
treating patients with chronic head, neck and facial pain disorders. Since 1990 his practice has been exclusively devoted to the treatment
of Temporomandibular-related disorders, snoring, sleep apnea, and bruxism. To stay up to date on the latest procedures, Dr. Bennett’s
credentials include Fellow, International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics, Fellow, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain President,
American Academy of Craniofacial Pain (2-year term), Program Chairman, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain (last 4 years prior to
being elected President), Diplomate, American Academy of Pain Management, Diplomate, American Board of Craniofacial Pain, Member,

Jamison Spencer, DMD
Dr. Jamison Spencer is the director of the Craniofacial Pain Center of Idaho in Boise and the Craniofacial Pain Center of Colorado in
Denver. He is the Immediate Past President of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain (AACP), a Diplomate of the American Board of
Craniofacial Pain, a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and has a Masters in Craniofacial Pain from Tufts University.
He teaches head and neck anatomy at Boise State University and is adjunct faculty at the Tufts Craniofacial Pain Center in both the
craniofacial pain residency and dental sleep medicine programs. Dr. Spencer is a founding faculty member of both the AACP’s Craniofacial
Pain Mini-Residency and the AACP/Tufts Dental Sleep Medicine Mini-Residency program. He is also the inventor of the Silent Sleep oral
appliance, FDA approved for the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea. Dr. Spencer has lectured across the United States, in Latin America,
Australia, Europe, Eastern Europe and India. Dr. Spencer lives in Boise, Idaho with his wife of 21 years Jennifer, and their 6 children.
Todd Morgan, DMD
Dr. Todd Morgan is a clinician and researcher with 20 years of experience in dental sleep medicine and a highly respected leader in the field.
His team has completed several NIH funded clinical trials and authored several peer-reviewed articles and books on the treatment of sleep
apnea with dental appliances. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, and sits on the Board of American Academy
of Dental Sleep Medicine. He is the Chief of Oral Medicine at Scripps Memorial Hospital. He is also a consultant to Scripps Clinic Division
of Sleep Medicine in La Jolla, California.
Dawne Slabach, DDS
Dr. Dawne Slabach has a clinical practice focused on Sleep-Disordered Breathing, TMJ disorders and orthodontics. Her passion for treating
patients comes from her own personal experiences with all three areas of treatment. Dr. Slabach received her B.S. in Biochemistry in 1984 and
her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1988, both from the Ohio State University. She is a Diplomate in the Academy of Sleep Disorders Disciplines,
Distinguished Fellow in the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and a Certified Assistant Instructor for the International Association of
Orthodontics. She is also a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and an assistant instructor for Rondeau Seminars. She has
been practicing and teaching Dental Sleep Medicine for the past 8 years.
Mayoor Patel, DDS
Dr. Mayoor Patel received his dental degree from the University of Tennessee in 1994. After graduation he completed a one-year residency in
Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD). Dr. Patel also earned a Fellowship in the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, American
Academy of Craniofacial Pain, the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics and the Academy of General Dentistry. He also
became a Diplomate in the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Board of Orofacial Pain and American Board of Craniofacial
Pain. Previously, Dr. Patel served as a board member with the Georgia Association of Sleep Professionals and presently serves on the
board for the American Board of Craniofacial Pain and American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. With extensive dental knowledge and expertise,
Dr. Mayoor Patel has served as Director of Dental Sleep Medicine for FusionSleep since 2008. He also is an Adjunct Faculty Member at
Tufts University, Georgia Regents University and The Atlanta School of Sleep Medicine. And since 2003, Dr. Patel has limited his
practice to the treatment of TMJ Disorders, Headaches, Facial Pain and Sleep Apnea. Additional contributions have been published
textbook chapters and journal articles.
Shouresh Charkhandeh, DDS
Dr. Shouresh Charkhandeh received his DDS and Bachelor of Medical Sciences from the University of Alberta, Canada and earned his Fellowship
from Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. He maintains a group of private practices in Edmonton and Calgary with a focus on
Dental Sleep Medicine, TMD and advanced occlusal reconstructive cases. He is actively involved in research to improve treatment outcome
predictability for OAT, using the MATRx Technology and is the “Chief Dental Officer” at Zephyr Sleep Technologies. He is the recipient of
the “2012 Clinical Research Award” from the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), and has lectured at numerous meetings such
as American Academy of Sleep Medicine Annual Meeting, AADSM Annual Meeting, IAO (International Association for Orthodontics) Annual Meeting,
and many more Sleep meetings across North America. He is one of the SomnoMed Academy Speakers and is also the “Clinical Director” at The
Snore Centre in Calgary, Alberta; a multidisciplinary clinic offering personalized diagnostic and treatment services for snoring, sleep
apnea and other sleep disorders. Dr. Charkhandeh is a major advocate for the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach to Dental Sleep
Medicine which focuses on the collaboration of Sleep Physicians, Sleep Dentists and CPAP Providers and has successfully treated hundreds
of OSA patients.
Ken Berley, DDS, JD
Dr. Ken Berley is a native Arkansan and has practiced dentistry in the state since 1980. He graduated from The University of Tennessee
College of Dentistry in Memphis with high honors. Dr. Berley has been practicing Cosmetic Dentistry for over 25 years and is an active
member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Berley completed his first implant case in 1984. He graduated from the University
of Arkansas Little Rock in 1995 with a JD degree. He is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and a Master of
the Implant Prosthodontics Section of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Therefore, he is one of the few dentists in
the State of Arkansas trained and qualified to both surgically place and restore implants. Additionally, Dr. Berley is a Fellow of the
Academyof General Dentistry and can perform all phases of general and restorative dentistry. Dr. Berley is a member of the Dental
Organization for Conscious Sedation and trained in sedation and anesthesis at the University of Alabama. Dr. Berley is a Member of
the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Berley has lectured nationally in the fields of Cosmetic Dentistry, Implant
Dentistry and Risk Management. He has lectured for such prestigious organizations as the Texas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies,
the Tennessee Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Sleep and Breathing Academy.

fees will be refunded at 100% for cancellations received 14 days prior to start of course. An assessment fee of $250.00 will be taken for cancellations
received after this time. This course provider reserves the right to cancel a course or to provide a substitute instructor if conditions warrant. All
registration fees will be returned if the course is cancelled.
